Jack McCombs was recently elected to the Florida Home Builders Association's Hall of Fame. The induction was on October 22, 2011 in Tampa, Florida, during the FHBA's Fall Leadership Conference.

Jack and two other inductees were presented by Robert Harper, chairman of the Hall of Fame Board of Governors, and saluted as individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to the Florida home building industry and FHBA.

Jack first got involved with FHBA in the 1960s working in the homebuilding industry. He stayed actively involved in FHBA and the national organization even after started his own business, McCombs Electric Company, in 1974.

In 1985, Jack made history as the first Associate Member from Florida to vote on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Home Builders.

With the three 2011 inductees, the Hall of Fame, which was created in 1990, has 59 members.

On a local level, Jack has worked tirelessly for Laguna Pointe beginning with service as an early Association board member. Jack is serving again as Association vice-president. Many owners will remember after the devastation of Hurricane Ivan how Jack was able to promptly obtain power panels, hardware, and air conditioning units for LP, while hundreds of other contractors were clamoring for these same scarce resources.

Congratulations Jack McCombs on the Hall of Fame award, and continued thanks for all you do for Laguna Pointe!
